The purpose of this assignment is to connect theory that has been studied and put it into practice.

Assignment Details:
In this assignment, you are going to create an original job description for a job that you would have as a College student – an entry level position within an organization.  You may use a job that you current HAVE or recently HAD for this assignment!   NO SOURCES are to be used or are required for this assignment – your own original work is required for all sections of this assignment.
Your Job Description must contain the following sections (please see your textbook for layout format):
•    Job Identification Section: This section follows the job tile.  It includes items such as the department, location of the job, the person to whom the job holder reports to.
•    Job Summary Statement: This is a short paragraph of two to three sentences summarizing the overall purpose/mission of the job. It provides the rationale for why the job exists and how it contributes to the organization.
•    Essential Functions: Lists the essential duties and responsibilities of the position written as simply, yet completely, your essential functions section must include:
o    A minimum of 10 task/duty/responsibility (TDR) statements.  More than 10 are required to receive full marks in this area.
o    The TDR statements should be clear and contain sufficient detail so as to be helpful and detailed for the jobholder.  Consider HOW each task should be complete and THE LEVEL OF ACHIEVEMENT required when writing each statement.
o    Each TDR statement should start with a verb.
•    Job Specifications: Describes the knowledge, skills, abilities (education and experience), and other attributes (KSAOs) that are necessary to perform the job.
•    Working Conditions: Includes physical conditions as well as environmental conditions that increase the risk of accident or health problems (e.g., temperature extremes, dust, fumes, and hazardous materials). Includes mental conditions that cause anxiety, stress, or other types of mental discomfort (e.g., isolation, continual disruption, repetition, and pressure of deadlines). Documents business travel required by the job, and indicates the extent of this travel. Lists hours of work that are not the standard 40-hour week, eight-hour day (e.g., shorter work weeks such as 10-hour days, four workdays, flex time, job sharing, part-time, telecommuting, contract, or other work shifts).
Assignment submission: All assignments are to be submitted to the Assignment folder in DC Connect on the due date on or before 11:59:00pm.  Late assignments will be penalized 20% per calendar day up to 5 days after which a mark of zero will be assigned and it will not be accepted.   “LATE” is defined at 12:00am and each subsequent 24-hour period thereafter for 5 days.
