This will be shared with you by return email by the lecturer. Each week is worth a potential 3 marks. The SLJ is designed to assist your own learning and skills development throughout this Unit. It is not just a diary or record of “What you have done”, but a record of what you have learned, tried and critically reflected upon. It is a personal record of your own learning. As such it is a document which is unique to you. A Learning Log helps you to record, structure, think about, reflect upon, plan, develop and evidence your own learning. If the SJL is not up to date, or submitted later than requested, penalties, as stated in the Course Unit outline, will be applied. The contents of the SJL should contain detailed information and not single-word entries. Fuller explanations of your thoughts must be provided.Ensure that you follow the detailed instructions for each section of the SLJ and provide adequate information that evidences your own learning and development as you synthesise the course materials into your personal thoughts and philosophy, remembering to link your written reflections to your learning outcomes. To assist you in this process, I strongly suggest that your reflections should correlate to the SLJ requests. The completed SLJ when submitted each week contains no more than 300 words. Hence in week 10 you will have a log that contains up to 3,000 words that support your reflection processes. The completed SLJ will become a very valuable study tool for your final examination.
