A)After watching “Cassie’s story: Dyan Ngal”, concentrate on the first scene, and discuss the following: Do you believe that we have a moral obligation to care for those with whom we share some sort of relationship? Based on your understanding of the importance of relationships with family and community for Indigenous peoples, explain why business has an obligation to care for those with whom it shares some sort of relationship. Please use ethical theory to support your position. OR B)After watching Cassie’s story, consider how industries such as the real estate industry and/or the construction industry advertise themselves (note: a selection of print and TV ads will be provided in resources for students to evaluate). What are the underlying messages about land and property rights underpinning their advertising campaigns? Analyze these assumptions and messages, considering Australia’s historical dispossession if Indigenous peoples of their lands and cultures. Please use ethical theory to support your position. OR C)Australians have historically prided themselves on being the land of the ‘fair go’. Using one of the 5 scenes from Cassie’s story, discuss ways in which the issues raised in your selected scene have affected the employment prospects of Indigenous Australians in the past, and how they continue to do so in the present. Analyze Australia’s treatment of Indigenous Australians using ethical theory. Criteria · Identifies key issues raised in Cassie’s story and relates them to ethical issues in business · Outlines awareness of historical factors that have contributed to the disadvantaged position of Australian Indigenous peoples · Identifies/describes how these issues relate to business ethics · The assignment must be in a report format including an executive summary, table of contents, introduction, main body, conclusion & recommendations · The assignment should be referenced usingusing the APA (American Psychological Association) style.(Please include in-text referencing and at least 15-20 references in the reference list). · Assessment Requirements Students will be assessed in subjects on the basis of a combination of norm and criterion referencing with marks and grades being awarded by a combination of predetermined standards and the performance of other students in the subject.
