Things to consider for an introduction Identifies the topic Elaborates on significance to own_professional practice 3. Purposes are clear, concise, explicit and astuteRelevance of topicThe topic of this literature review is centred around educators providing engaging learning experiences in students participating in science at primary and secondary school. More precisely, examining whether creating learning situations that relate to student’s interests can help to create engaging and successful learning experiences. he reason this topic came to be the basis o t e literature review is influenced heavily by my last professional teaching experience. From the timel first began to form my own teaching pedagogy, it was clear to me that the best way to provide a successful learning experience for students was to create activities based on real-life situations, therefor creating contextualisation for students in their learning. This was not the case for the educator in my last professional teaching experience, where teard/fryMi science problems were the primary source of learning. It wasn’t until looking at some of my professional teaching experiences for this literature review that got me thinking about this topic. Another reason for prompting me to look at this topic, is something all educators have heard from their students at somepointintime, “When will I ever use this in the real world?”,! Based on these experiences, the purpose for this research is to ask questions such as, does contextualising learning activities actually have an impact of the success of students learning and their engagement? Are there other aspects of students learning situations that are more important then contextualising? How does creating real-life learning activities affect teacher and student experiences? And what are some of the cautions when contextualising classroom activities?Relevance and Scope ReviewResearching and evaluating the ways in which students interact with LOTE content is something 1 passionate about.
