Developing and implementing effective workplace policies for the prevention andmanagement of health and safety issues is a crucial skill as a work health and safety offcer or health services manager.As we have come to know very well over the past year and half, the world is rapidly evolving and new and emergingwork, health and safety issues are arising that must be managed according to the best and most up-to-date evidenceavailable. An excellent example of this is the response to the Coronavirus pandemic, where having having safe andeffective WHS practices and policies have been integral to minimising the spread of the virus and allowing for a returnto work and resuming of normal activities. These policies and practices are updated regularly to accommodate theevidence as it emerges.This tasks allows you the opportunity to develop a work place policy for an emerging health issue of your choosingfrom the list below. The policy must be informed and supported by current, up-to-date evidence, codes of practice,standards and guidelines.DescriptionFor this task, students will be asked to write an evidence-based policy to promote worker health, safety and wellbeing.Students will need to choose from a list of emerging occupational health and wellbeing issues and draw on currentevidence, standards, best practice guidance materials, legislation and regulations to support the workplace policy.
